Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions for an agreement between 'you' the dog owner and 'we' the service provider trading as 'Barkingham Palace'. If you make a booking, then you accept the following terms and agree to our Privacy Policy and our Full Policy and Procedures.

  • An enquiry does not constitute a booking. Your booking is not valid until we receive payment of the deposit (full payment for stays of 3 nights or less, or £100 per dog per booking for stays longer than 3 nights).

  • Full remaining payment is due 14 days prior to your stay. If we do not receive full payment two weeks before your dog’s stay, we will contact you via email to remind you. If then we do not receive payment, we have the right to cancel your booking and offer the dates to another customer. Any deposit paid will be non-refundable. If you cancel your booking less than 3 weeks before your dog’s stay, Barkingham Palace reserve the right to keep your full payment.

  • The receipt of a cancellation request must be acknowledged and recorded by you and Barkingham Palace. An email that is not responded to does not constitue acknowledgment.

  • The cancellation of your booking for any reason does not entitle you to a refund if we are able to provide our service. We recommend ensuring you have taken out suitable insurance to cover this.

  • You agree to provide full information about your dog(s) including any behavioural issues.

  • All dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations (including kennel cough vaccination), worming, tick and flea treatments.

  • All dogs must be microchipped and number detailed to Barkingham Palace.

  • We are unable to accept dogs with aggression problems towards other dogs or people and subject to the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

  • We are happy to accept bookings for unspayed bitches, however if you believe your dog is due into season during her board, you must inform us at the time of booking.

  • We are happy to accept male dogs that have not been castrated providing they are not aggressive towards other dogs.

  • If your dog causes damage to Barkingham Palace or our belongings, other than reasonable wear and tear, you agree to reimburse any reasonable cost incurred.

  • If you collect your dog before the confirmed end date of the board you will not receive a refund.

  • We reserve the right to move your dog to a kennel at your additional expense if it becomes violent and uncontrollable.

  • You must supply a valid UK based emergency contact if you are overseas.

  • We reserve to use any vet we see fit in the event of medial attention being required. We will take the dogs to our vet Chine House, Sileby.

  • In the event of the need of a vet, you are responsible for payment of any veterinary fees incurred upon your return. We recommend that your dog is fully insured for sickness, accident, injury and we recommend you also have third party liability prior to your dog staying with us.

  • You must indicate if we are able to allow your dog off-lead when out in public where beneficial to your dog. You accept responsibility for any third party liability.

  • We treat your pet as if it is ours at all times and give exceptional care. Barkingham Palace cannot be liable for loss, injury or death of your dog.

  • Photos/Video taken of your dog remain the property of Barkingham Palace. We reserve the right to use these on the website, social media and in any promotional material unless you indicate otherwise.

  • You agree to boarding your dog with other dogs and should your dog need a separate area, you must inform us at least one week prior to your stay.

  • You must provide enough food for the entire duration of your dog’s stay at Barkingham Palace. If you fail to provide enough food you will incur a cost of £10 in addition to the cost of any food we have had to provide.

  • All prices are for 24 hours. Should you fail to collect your dog on time you agree to pay for an additional 24 hours of boarding.

  • Safety and well being of all dogs is a priorty at Barkingham Palace. Should your dog be reactive to other dogs, or struggle to settle after 24 hours at Barkingham Palace, we will phone the emergency contact and ask them to collect the dog within 12 hours. Should the emergency contact not collect the dog or refuse to collect within 12 hours, we reserve the right to transfer the dog to a local kennel at the owner's expense. The fees paid to Barkingham Palace will be non-refundable.
